it's a shame that some dealerships can't and won't show respect for the outside people spending thousands of mostly hard earned bucks for there ride just to have some a-hole with a sorry a@s life to make it hard on you for wanting your car to run right!i don't think it's fair or right but there are several news stations that will take your story to the next level hopfully to be on your side and to get the problem fixed w/out charge.at the ford dealership i work with we(employees)that work here don't take that kind of SugarHoneyIcedTea from anyone.be it the tech on a bad week, service advisor,or even managers.all these people have a job to do regardless how they think.so with the proper people involved make a case and stand up for your rights as a consumer of the free world and kick there *** down a couple of noches and get that R--E--S--P--E--C--T! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

whoa, what a bunch of crooked little bastards!!
Definitely work your way up the food chain with this one. The Service Manager needs to know, find out who the GM or owner is, and go from there.
If none of them can help you, keep going. A call to MNAO and a call to the BBB would start getting their attention as well.

Go through the managers at the dealership and if you don't get a satisfactory response while you're there do what someone else said and take notes of the people's names their responses. If they ask you why you are doing that tell them you're going to call MNAO.
In your case I would just go to another dealer. I would never want them working on my car. I'd still report them to MNAO and hope it has some effect. Since MNAO seems fit to let RX-8 survey scores basically not count you could always report them directly to the Better Business Bureau.

It's not always about the money. I actually didn't buy from another dealer because they paid no attention to me whatsoever when I was first looking around (there were 3 sales guys that I could see who weren't doing anything - it was the middle of the day in the work week). I'm young and look it so they figure I wasn't worth their time. I actually had to ask for a sales guy to show me the car, brochures, and get some numbers, etc...
But I once I had to ask, I knew I wasn't buying from them. Then they found out how much I wanted to put down then they were suddenly had a lot of interest.

I think the stealership brought it up and labeled it as the cause in their scam to rip him off. Ignorance is bliss and paydays for some dealerships, and they are curious as to why most people go to outside mechanics after their warrenties are up. I'm sorry $95 per hour for labor when I can go to a great performance shop whose labor is only $75 per hour you tell me where you'd go for service after your warrenty is done with.

call MNAO. keep calling MNAO. i had a problem with Giuffre Mazda in Brooklyn (total ********) where my car was missing the tire repair kit on delivery. they promised to get it to me but never did. after two months of the runaround towards me AND MNAO (i called them multiple times), MNAO finally sent me my missing kit, along with $100 in gift certificates redeemable at any Mazda for parts or service.

That sucks about the shady deal that dealer tried pulling on you. I would have asked for the Service Manager and not dealt with those *********. If the Service Manager wasn't available, I would have asked to speak to the owner. If he/she wasn't available i would have looked up their number and called them at home and tell them what sleazy people for for their dealership. **** like that has to stop at dealerships. No wonder dealership are called stelaships, they are not helping the stereotype.
Call the Service Manager then the Owner of the Mazda dealer and then MNAO. I'm sure things will be resolved as you go up the chain of command...

I had the same DTC and Wellesley Mazda took care of me. Troubleshooting was done by the book though, so expect to come back again if they could clear it the first time and sent you off.

Its out of the way for you but Mazda Gallery in Norwood always kisses my *** and even the little things and lord knows I have almost every Mazdaspeed part there is. Although one of their service reps did seem kinda miffed when he asked me why I put in my Kenwood system and I told him the Bose sucked.

In addition, a mazdaspeed intake here in Greece is an aftermarket part. I know that in states this is not the case.

Update
I went back to Wellesley Mazda for my appointment and they checked my car. The people there were super friendly. The guy told me that they have to replace the PCM and it will be done under warranty. He told me that there no reason why it shouldn't be done under warranty.
Now i just have to wait for the part to come in.
So what kinda **** was the other dealership trying to pull? All i gotta say is don't go to IRA Mazda on 114 in Danvers, MA.

Finally had my PCM replaced today. No more check engine light, yay. They even gave me a Mazda 3 for a loaner, unlike IRA Mazda the loaner they gave me one time was a Toyota Echo. I drove it home and that was it that **** embarrassing. An RX8 for an echo what the hell is that.
