Average Water Temp

I'm trying to figure out the average water temp for my RX8. The reason why is that I installed some mechanical Autometer gauges and I think the sensing probe could be obstructing the flow of coolant (due to it being to big for the racing beat housing????...at least it appears that way to me. maybe???

I'm running around 180F this seems a little high to me. (idle around 170F....)

Before when I had a different set up (I installed a coupling that mounted the sensor halfway out of the racing beat housing. I got an average reading of about 170F...(idle around 160F this seemed normal...but I know.... rotors run hotter than normal engines )

The question I have is... "if" because I've mounted the sensor in its proper location (without a coupling) that NOW I'm getting a truer reading or is the sensor obstructing the flow of coolant.

My OIL temp seems normal 150-160F
OIL pressure 20psi at idle and 50-60psi at normal operating speeds..

anyone?

So 180F is standard ... cool "Thanks laythor... most appreciated. "

I could not tell if the variance was from the sensor mounted in the coupling or being mounted in its proper location.

Yeah 180-200 is norm. Hell 300 is norm for vipers.

180 is the temp when the thermostat opens up.. so under normal conditions this is about where the temps will hover.
