Anyone w/ M flash dyno

I was just curious if the M flash fixes the poor engine performance above 7k rpm's that was shown on previous dyno charts. I believe it was suppose to, but I have the M flash and power definitely feels like it still falls off above 7k.

re:

So it looks like the M flash does improve things somewhat above 7k, but does not completely solve the problem.

Well...it is still running pig-rich (11AFR) @ WOT. See below:

Those are 2, 1st-2nd gear runs. Notice how the mixture gets extremely rich once the thottle is mashed? (I wish I had a laptop and could record throttle position as well...but..I don't)

I had mine Dynoed a few months ago just after the M flash. It was on a Dyno Dynamics which reads a good deal lower than a Dyno Jet but is more consistant. Great for tuning, terrible for bragging. My bone stock M flash car saw 164 whp at about 7750. I just got my CZ unit and midpipe. I hope to park it on the dyno again soon for some tuning.

I don't know about dyno charts, just my butt dyno. And my butt dyno has always felt the car is strongest above 7k rpms.

Before the M-flash I would get a real strong kick, with no drop prior to the kick, above 7k rpms. Right around 8,300 it would really knock my head back into the seat. After the M-flash the power band feels more balanced; with a little more oomph in the lower revs below 4k, but I still get the "kick" right at about 8,300 rpm - just not as abrupt as before.

did you miss the part about it not being on a liberal dyno? chances are your car would make about the same on the same dyno.

its been well documented that M doesnt do much for high end kick in the pants, but more for total area under the curve which in the end makes the car faster in the 1/4, on a track, and easier to drive on the street.

this is what mine did on a dyno dynamics AWD dyno. This type of dyno is known as a heartbreaker and on avg reads about 20-30hp less than others. Also, I'm pretty sure that they left the DCS and TCS on, so that I've heard makes a difference.

definately run with dsc off, even on an AWD dyno. the PCM will notice the car is accelerating much faster than it should in 4th gear, so it's likely to intervene.

do you know if other AWD dynos work the same way? If so that's cool, because I have ready access to an AWD dyno

you know if KTR got that single turbo S4 to run?

I didn't have any ctrl as to what they were doing with the car, didn't even think about it till later.

as for the monster s4- they had it running- they've had it on the track, but it's putting out so much power that they broke the front and rear axles irc.

it's insane really

as for AWD dynos- if it's a true awd dyno (dyno dynamics is the only one I know of, but there could be more) they'll have a roller system. This is what makes it read the way it is- takes into consideration a bunch of other factors that "hub" dynos don't

so to answer your question fully- I don't know- I think so?

that's good, i'll stop by my local shop and look at their dyno. they tune too, so maybe I can work something out. think dyno day.

that s4 really is a beast...I remember everyone on audiworld discrediting them saying it would never run and that they have no Audi expierence...
