Anti-freeze

I noticed the other day that there is a small puddle of antifreeze on the garage floor. It is a 04 with a little more than 6000 miles on it. The coolent doesn't seem to be low. Should a make a trip to the dealer?

Take it in for service. May be a water pump leaking. There have been a few reports on the forum of such a problem.

It's your water pump. I just had mine replaced two weeks ago. Mine would only leave about a teaspoon of coolant every 4 or 5 days, but it wasn't going to get better on its own. I never did have to add any coolant, but could tell the resevoir was creeping downward.

Mine is an 04 with 21,000 miles.

I just hope the new one had some sort of upgraded parts, otherwise I assume I will be going back again in the future.

Chris....

Some folks with early cars noticed puddles of coolant under their cars and took them in for service to find that the engine block itself was leaking (cracks in housings-- manufacturing defect). The remedy: an engine swap, covered by warranty. It's been a while since someone's posted an issue like this. but if you do a little searching, you can find:

Otherwise, as others have mentioned, it could just be a leaky water pump.
