Anti-freeze
I noticed the other day that there is a small puddle of antifreeze on the garage floor. It is a 04 with a little more than 6000 miles on it. The coolent doesn't seem to be low. Should a make a trip to the dealer?

It's your water pump. I just had mine replaced two weeks ago. Mine would only leave about a teaspoon of coolant every 4 or 5 days, but it wasn't going to get better on its own. I never did have to add any coolant, but could tell the resevoir was creeping downward.
Mine is an 04 with 21,000 miles. I just hope the new one had some sort of upgraded parts, otherwise I assume I will be going back again in the future. Chris.... |
Some folks with early cars noticed puddles of coolant under their cars and took them in for service to find that the engine block itself was leaking (cracks in housings-- manufacturing defect). The remedy: an engine swap, covered by warranty. It's been a while since someone's posted an issue like this. but if you do a little searching, you can find:

it was my water pump and they replaced with no problem. Thanks
