alright i need some help
View My Video
I have had this problem for a while and have posted a couple threads but i can not figure out what is happening here... my idle is terrible and i cant seem to figure out why. I do not believe i have had any power loss, not any that is noticeable at least and when i am driving everything seems fine... but at idle it is just really rough. I have replaced the spark plugs and new coils are on the way but i dont think that this is the problem... i attached a video at the top of what is does at idle please shoot me some suggestions because i am out of ideas here!

just cleaned the MAF and its drying now.. also got my codes...
P2070 SSV valve
and P0037 Rear 02 sensor
i already knew about both of these so nothing new here....
just to be sure i did this right, not that its hard to screw up
i took the MAF off and used maf cleaner to spry up the two side tubing of the actual MAF... the resistor looked pretty dirty but i didnt mess with it to much because it looks fragile.. is this all i have to do to clean the MAF?

alright so the idle problem is 3 times better, it still does it just a little bit though so hopefully my coil install will fix that issue here in the next few days.... just a question though, what exactly does the ssv valve being stuck open hurt? I obviously know that it is not supposed to be stuck open all the time but why is it bad enough to through a cel? just wondering

Read the codes. My air pump went out and thats what my idle was doing. I also have hard start and getting a new engine.
When you install the new coils put some new plugs in too. Give her a good tune up.

I've seen the "SSV stuck open" code for a valve that was actually stuck closed.
Its more likely for the valve to stick closed since that is how it is when the car isn't running.
There is a N/O impact switch which tells the PCM if the valve is open or closed.
This switch is what generates the CEL... but why is another thing you need to narrow down.
1) If the valve is truly stuck, it won't impact the switch.
2) If the actuator has a pinhole, it won't open the valve.
3) If the solenoid is stuck, it won't allow the actuator/valve to move.
4) If the impact switch itself is bad, it won't sense that the valve has moved.
So before you dig into anything, you need to find out which component is causing your problem.

so i installed my ls2 coil kit today and everything seems to be running a lot smoother but starting the car is now pretty tough... i cant figure out why but it will crank for a while and not start... and i have flooded the 8 before so i know what that is like, this is a different kind of no start... any suggestions... it was fine before i put the kit in

Ah... no, removing the valve will not give you better access, removing the upper intake manifold will.
You can check everything with the valve still installed and I highly recommend that you don't remove the valve unless you're sure its the culprit.
Is this from BHR?
If so did you follow their directions and use a good grounding point?

not trying to be rude here man, but do you know how to read or are you just being ignorant and not reading the rest of the thread because if it was starting fine before the coil install and now its having a rough time starting then obviously something went wrong with the install. Dont give poor advice to boost your post count it doesnt help either one of us.
