Code 4+2 = Faulty Front Impact Senor, thats the new Math.

Took my 8 to the dealer. They told me that I had a faulty Front Impact Senor and that my airbags will not work if this light is on. They quoted me 570 plus tax to replace the senor. Would anyone out there know the resistance of this senor as I am reading 118k ohms. Is may senor truely faulty. I can order it for 172 and install it myself as I do not have much faith in my dealer. Any help would be great.

 

WTF? this car should be under warranty? Your posting in the Series II forum so you have a 2009-2010 correct? Should be free fix.
