wow lucky. Good to see it was something "simple"

as for the airbags thing- just for future reference. It doesn't take a large electrical charge to set off the airbag sensors- basically walking across a carpet with socks is enough. If anyone ever plays around/works on the airbags themselves- be very careful. I know of a few instances of people getting their neck broken and killed doing stuff.

Just because the battery is disconnected does not mean a thing. One of the training classes I've gone through a few times tells teh story of an insurance adjuster that was killed when a curtain air bag deployed as he was leaning into a car that had crashed a while ago to check on the mileage

The power circut, confiiguration management check- for the bags, has to be re-set- this can only be done by a Mazda dealer. This is make certain, that if the car was ever in a wreck, and the bags where replaced, that the entire sysytem, is eletrically compliant- it was required of all OEMs as part of the leglislation in the 94 congress mandates for Airbags. Your power supply from sensor to pyro-module, was or is interupted, this info is now stored in the computer- this is how we can tell, when you trade if the bgs where ever deployed.

My Airbag light is flashing on start up as well, just 3 times repeating and then solid.

Anyone with a shop manual that can help me out?

check the harnesses under the seats first, then check the connections on the airbag control module behind the radio.

disconnected and reconnected the connections under the seats and the one behind the glove box.

Harness was updated as part of the recall, not sure what else to try.

Any suggestions?

not talking about the one behind the glovebox..

There is a control module behind the radio. Take the dash apart, take the radio out (dont forget the security bolt), and wiggle those wires around.
