This package does come with a single resonator mid-pipe which replaces your cat.
I would recommend that you keep the cat in the garage because you will need it for e-check.
There are ways to mask the CEL (Cobb AccesPort), but you can't hide the visual inspection for a cat.
So its best to reinstall the cat for e-check, or just keep the cat on.

Actually it would be better to buy a system that has a cat.

Your car can be towed away for not having a cat.

What ever you do .... wait until you have done smog, then change the system.

yup, in CA not having a cat can lead to having the vehicle towed and possibly even impounding it for up to 30 days.

turns out i did have a leak on my midpipe, got a gasket and cleared up everything, DAMN, turns out the midpipe isnt AS loud as it used to be, cant even really hear it anymore, but does give a nice POP at redline shifts

Not having cats, can, like Jedi54 said, lead to huge punishments from the law, including a financial fine of $2000 per cat in CA. On my car, thats $6000, and theres no way I'm taking those things off.

Plus, doesn't taking the cats off an RX-8 produce only moderate horsepower gains, while at the same time throwing out much greater amounts of pollution?
