Aftermarket clutch bracket/assembly?

To make the story short, I'm seeking to replace the clutch bracket with a stronger one. After having ACT clutch for a couple of months, the bracket finally gave up.

Does anyone know if there is any source out there that might be making one or offer one soon? If so, I rather wait than purchasing the EOM one which I have no doubt it will brake again with the setup I had.

I'll just let these pictures speak themselves:

I know there are forums member had broken bracket, but didn't find any source that mention if there are any stronger bracket replacement.

If there isn't any, I guess I will have no choice but to weld some re-enforcing metal to the bracket when I replace the new one.

Thanks,

Seik

Charles, can the average person change the bracket themselves? I am going to hit 90,000 miles next week and about two months ago had a ACT clutch installed. So far no issues but should mine break I am on my own.

Good to hear. My newly replaced assembly already start to show some sign of deformation after 7.5k when I took out to inspect last time and it has been sitting in my garage waiting to be re-enforce, whenever that is.

I would highly recommend anyone with aftermarket plate jump in to reserve one and it will be worth every pennies; As the metal from the OEM bracket is too thin and it's not track worthy at all if you have upgraded pressure plate. And I had hope mazda would change the bracket design, since the tech I ordered from give me a different part # from the print out I had, but it wasn't any different when I got it

Charles, If you happen to complete the modification before I have a chance to work on it, I will get one from you. I have an extra pedal + the newly replaced assembly to trade in as my only progress so far is just some mockup and metal laying around, and my car is just sitting in my driveway collecting dusk

Something wrong with your Engine ? Or you just want to rebuild it to be safe ? (and clean out all the carbon)

When mine went they replaced it under warranty. I'm not sure if the new bracket is different or my technician hooked me up with a rigged bracket, but it looks different. See pic.

Even the new bracket tends to allow more side movement of the pedal than most people want, and I don't trust it to hold the stress of an h.d. pressure plate. I have heard from a couple people who got the new bracket and it was still wrecked by the h.d. pressure plate.
What are you waiting for ?

Hurry up and give us a product ! :P

Just remove the nuts/bolts from the bracket, lower it a bit, slip the support bracket in place, and reinstall the bracket/pedal assembly. Price will be such that don't get rich off this idea. That's reserved for the PPF.
Cant wait :D

what are you going to do about the PPF ?

I know SR has one, they call it Heavy Duty PPF. but no word about what it actually does (lighter? stronger? god knows)

and I think Richard said something about a Ti PPF a LONG while ago ?

Not at the moment, but within the next year I will probably have interest in purchasing all these parts:

Paradox Performance
Custom axles, clutch brackets, ignition coils

I'm guessing the ignition coils will be more robust for FI situations?

interesting read guys. I have 69,000 miles on mine right now...about 6,000 of those with the ACT HD clutch plate. What symptoms will I experience first, with the clutch bracket, or are they just prone to snapping at once.

I read that some of you guys have a sloppy pedal...meaning that it is sloppy from side to side?

Definitely interested. Let us know when you have ballpark prices on Ti and/or other material versions, so we can feedback on what we might be willing to pay. Surely looks like a must have!

That bracket cost 244 something @ japanparts.com .... seems like a solid piece

I hope that CRH's bracket will be cheaper :P

Swwet, 'cause my is clicky.
I always felt the clutch was less than "positive".
I hate the way you can wiggle the pedal left and right. Same goes for the brake.

mine is clicky as well, I did looked at it , the weld is still holding but, it might just snap off one day.

Maybe I should purposely break it with some *tools*, and have some dealership to replace it, so I can get your bracket whenever is ready

Ti is a waste of money on a part that doesn't need the strength and isn't visible.
I'd do it in billet aluminum.
