Yup, that's the MAF sensor. So that piece came with the AEM intake?
Its just strange because normally the original owner would need that!
But I would stick with your MAF sensor.
The error code P2097 references many sensors according to the shop manual, but the only one that would pertain to you is the IAT (intake air temp) because you only messed with the intake.
I would clean the brown "tear-drop" dangling down from the MAF sensor housing (that's the IAT sensor) with some contact cleaner (don't touch it, just spray), let air dry, and reinstall.
After that, do the PCM reset procedure again.

i did clean out the maf sensor with maf sensor cleaner, but the pcm reset method didnt work, so i cleared it out with a scanner. nocel for now, hope it stays that way!
