AC Compressor

Is it possible to replace this yourself or is it better to leave it up to a professional?

I've used some of the DIY's in the forums here that have been extremely helpful but I don't see one offhand for this.

I do believe that you have to be licensed to work on the AC system, by federal law. They don't want the CFC's entering the atmosphere.

Sarcasm or not if you don't have what I listed your not going to do the job correctly and WILL **** your A/C system but good...

Either way do as you please. It's always amusing.
It was just a simple question. Since my car is far out of warranty and I'm trying to learn to do as much with my car as far as replacing parts, I just wanted to know if this was possible.

I've learned a ton from other DIY's and was just wondering. That's it. I actually took it to a shop today so the experts could inform me what needed to be done. When it comes to possible issues with parts on my car I always refer to those that know what they are doing.

The fact of the matter is, I don't know a ton about replacing parts on my car. I'm an IT consultant so that is my expertise. If you were in a forum asking ADVICE about anything IT related I would be much more cordial because I'm not a douche.

When it comes down to it, all I wanted to know is whether or not this is something that an average car user can do or whether it's something to be left to the experts. Obviously, this is something that trained professionals will handle. I really have no idea why you chose to be such an *** about the response.

I appreciate this response as it answers everything I was curious about. Thank you for not being rude about it.

No more sarcasm in the 2nd post than there was in the 3rd. I think it is the 4th that was a bit over the top.
