ABS Module Replacement
Am I corect in assuming that if i have ABS pressure sensor issues that I need to replace the entire ABS module? or can I just replace a component of it (the pressure sensor)?
Also can anyone give me a general how to on removing the ABS module?
Thanks

I have C1290 (Pressure Transducer Cuircuit Failure). It says that the ABS module reads higher pressure than it should and compared to the other sensors its higher. Do you think it could be a wiring problem?
it doesn't hurt to check the wire first before replacing a 2K component.
if in the end IS the ABS module, you should be able to get it to work at some bigger shop with the proper WDS kind of computer.

do you have any idea what i would check on the wire. All the pins look good and its clean but the guild in the service manual does not adress checking the module just the other side of the connector that goes to the car
whats the difference between these 2 modules
one has the connector vertical as in the repair manual and the other its horizontal?
Mine is horisontal but are they interchangeble or is one DSC and the other not?

Nope.
Stop being cheap. do the diagnostic now start checking wires already.
doesn't hurt to try. might save u a ton.
So I swapped the entire ABS module with a used one I got from another member. The abs and tracction light are still on but when I scan for codes there are none. The scanner just says it can no longer communicate with the TCM im assuming thats some part of the ABS and its just because it is not programed to the PCM. So im headind into the dealer as soon as this damn snow melts to get it reprogrammed
Just thought id include an update incase any members run into this in the future

Just thought i would post a follow up incase anyone reads this in the future. I got the ABS reprogrammed today at Elite Mazda in Gatineau and it reprogrammed just fine with the used module they also replaced a fuse that blew as a result of the first failing module. No codes, No lights. Extreamly satisfied with the service!
Some good information here.
i have a bit of a problem with my abs/DSC on my 05 mt hi power from uk.
I have a stand alone ecu in my car with can bus, and got most of the stuff working but not my abs, does anyone know what signal/message the abs need to not get the mismatch code? I need info on the ID and message, so we can send the info to the abs unit.
Best regards Henrik

I got a really bad case of flat tire. Resulting in a spare that was smaller in diameter. Leading to what i think is ABS mudule failure. SYMPTOMS: ABS module makes highish pitch "bwerrrrrrrrrrr" noise. Engine won't start due to 15amp engine fuse keeps bursting.
Does this sound familiar? Im trying to connect dots.
My car had been throwing phantom ABS error faults since I got it few mos. ago (indicating bad RF wheel speed sensor even with new senor/wiring). These kinds of phantom faults can be caused by failing ABS module. I recently had ABS module rebuilt by ebay seller bba-remaninc for $95 and it no longer throwing the fault. Wish I had done that before spending $200 and hours replacing hub and wiring.
