6th gear issue....again

A while back in december I posted about it being hard to get into 6th gear, well I blamed that on the new AF shifter I had put in but last couple of days it did it again and miraculously went away again today being smooth once again. Is my 6th gear syncro worn or something?

If it's working randomly and then not...I'd start to suspect the syncro before all. Did you end up changing your tranny fluid, by chance?

I havent changed the fluid out yet, still the OEM orangeish fluid and my car is at 30k as of today. Clutch adjustment? Would that matter if only one gear was being annoying?

no,

but you have given no info..

year, mileage. anything..

depending on the year. you could have pp bolts that have backed off..

lots of other stuff.

what you have said is my car is red. i am getting bad gas mileage now. why?

well, the car has 30k miles on it and hasnt had any issues on it and at that milage it should still be fine. its a 2005 by the way. I'm taking it to the dealer monday since its under warranty still and I get a free loaner.

not really likely to be a syncro..

i would put the stock shifter back in and see if that changes a thing..

also it is likely not the axial flow shifter..

i had this happen to me one time a very long time ago. could not get into sixth.. then could not get into anything..

coasted to a stop.. tried for a while, gave up shut car down. put the clutch in and out a couple of times with the motor off.

then was able to get the car in gear again.. it never happened again.. odd, yes. but true.. i think it was around 45k miles and was with the short throw shifter..

but warranty is a good thing, you are covered..
