5500 rev limiter????

so my car died on me the other day. Basically, i get up, turn it on, let it warm, drive about 20 miles down the hwy, stop at a light to make a left onto this other hwy, start driving shift into 2nd, decide to go to redline, as soon as it hits 5500, the car just DIES on me, like i hit the gas but it just won't rev or anything. so im stuck on the road, let it sit for 5 min, then i try cranking, it turns on and then it just shuts off abruptly. Call my bro to come pick me up and a tow truck, they take it home and its been sittin in the garage. my warranty has already expired so dealer wont do much. I have the sp2 and the aem intake, my front license plate fell off a couple days ago, so the front is open and its been raining here in houston for like 2 days, i havent drove thru any big puddles but i wondered if its all the water?? We finally got it to crank and then just let it run n it was fine. Then we took off the air filter and cleaned it out, it was dirty, but not DIRTY DIRTY.

any ideas?

all the cel's are gone, i havent driven it cuz ive been busy at work so i havent had a chance to c if it will redline or die on me at 5500 again.

sry i just spit out everything so fast......... car has not given me ANY problems to date **knock on wood**

has 50,488 miles, its on 05'

never toook it to the dealer, just once for the recall, just did my own oil changes.

I just took her out for a spin, she seems fine, EXCEPT marbles in a can is back. I used to have it, but then it went away, n now its back.

Look at this for your MIAC problem, it's helped a bunch of people.

I forgot about your Clutch Bracket too ~~~

Where is it Tell me !

To OP : CAT dying is a possible cause. So take the AEM off and put it back to stock, bring it to a dealer
