5 x 120 bolt pattern on rx8??

Hi,
i am looking onto this rims which has bolt pattern of 5 x 120.
i did some research and there are some debate going on
putting 5x120 on 5x114.3
some people say since its different by 0.22mm or sth and it should be fine
and some say i can use some hubcentric? to make it perfectly fit.
what do you guys think about it??
i really like the rims and i don't know what i should do about it.
please help
thx

5x120 will not fit on 5x114.3. Period. Getting them on might be possible, but it isn't 'fitting'. You will have to replace your hubs with 5x120 hubs (not sure where you would find ones) in order to fit the rims.

If for some reason you are able to squeeze them on, they are an accident waiting to happen under high load, since they aren't 'holding' the wheel correctly. Not a risk I would take. Just find some 5x114.3 rims

so if i find a hub that will convert 114.3 to 120
such as

or
http://adaptitusa.com/5x450to5x120wheeladapter.aspx
will it be safe??

Tough call there. It will technically work, but I don't know enough about those types of spacers to be able to tell you for sure.

unless someone is giving you a free set of great rims with that pattern I would suggest just looking for a set of 114.3 just to be safe and avoid all of the hassle with changing it into a 5 120 pattern

so he never said what kind of wheels they are...

if by some chance they are some BMW bbs rims, then just save the money and find the right 5x114 set. its a wasted service to have it "re-drilled" or even putting on spacers.

If you get this to work, let me know. i have some SSRs from my BMW for sale that would be fun to run on the 8.

You would need at least a 20mm spacer to get enough meat to do the adapter...that would put the offset way too far out to fit without a lot of work to the wheel wells

Find a nice set of wheels that fit

haha dan beat me to the punch. but i'll just repeat what everyone has said already.

you're going to need thick adapter spacers for it to be ok. i would have said 25mm, but if dan says 20mm, then i know its fine. however, that would put your rims at +22, which is hella-flush territory and it would need some serious work to fit. and MSR rims are not expensive or rare enough to go through all that trouble.

hell, the adapters are going to cost at least $200. looking at MSR rims they seem to be around $150/piece new. not worth it. you could take the money you buy on these rims (i assume used) plus an adapter and buy them new with the right bolt pattern.
