2004 rx8 driver side door wont open

i know someone else had this problem also this week but i cant find the thread. well i was able to get the door shut from the problem on saturday but today the door will no longer open. electronic and mechanical lock dont do anything. i think what ever pulls the latch open from both the inside and outside door handles broke (maybe)
