2 Years - 2 Engines - I'm Done - Goodbye RX8
I feel that most of the hot-weather failures are actually the result of cumulative low-load operation in high temp with minimal injected oil volume. The over-rich condition in the "CAT-conservation" loading isn't helping, either, but pre-mix does nothing to alleviate that.
how the F is diagnosis not covered? tell him to call the fing hotline and get it authorised- you are in vegas and already on your 2nd motor tell him to speak to Mike Allen directly.
u can also get diff numbers if the engines hot or not, i think the spec of 6.9 is when the engines hot....i did a test on an rx8 once when it was cold and got like 6.1 and was like wtf!!!!!!! haha
mac 11 i love ur sig, days of thunder ftw!

Compression testing is affected by a lot of things (the RPMs just prior to shut-down will affect latent oil injection which can artificially raise the compression a tad, for instance), but the hot numbers are lower than the cold number, usually.
However, three-days-cold or so will see some weird effects as well.
If you want to just make yourself happy, let the motor cool down about 3 or 4 hours and then run the test. You will get your highest numbers.
For accuracy though, you should run the test with the motor "glove-hot".
