2 months of sitting.
Hi. I am in the military and I get deployed a lot. I just bought a 2004 rx8 and I was just told by some people that the rotary engine is really interesting in some parts. Being in the military I will get deployed. What can I do to the car to prepare it for a sitting period of a couple of months. My wife said that she would start it, but she doesn't know how to drive stick?
Does the car need to be ran like all the time? Or is starting it everyday going to be okay? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
CNC

Pump the tires up to 50 PSI, put some Sta-Bil in the gas tank and fill it up, run it a bit to circulate the Sta-Bil, park it and hook a trickle charger to the battery. Should go for several months that way.

I'm also in the military and get deployed often.
Unless you're going for over I'd say 3 months, all you need to do is remove battery, stuff some steel wool in the exhaust/ intake and make sure there is air in the tires.
Of course, wash n wax is good, but you can put a cover over your car.
