cel light went on this afternoon, any idea why, lots of oil, all is well as far is i know...tried to turn off and on but the light still remained when i restarted the car...please advise

 

Did you get gas recently? Check your oil just dont guess it is good. Restarting your car will not turn the CEL off.

 

how the heck would we know without any details of issues resulting from the cel?
if your car seems to run fine, my guess would be check the gas cap....other than that get the code read so we don't have to pull guesses out of our @$$

 

Most of the time a CEL is caused by a gas cap not being on tight

dint just get gas, everything was normal and it just came on, i cant give you more than that

 

You can give us more.... by getting the CEL code read and letting us know what it is.
Go to your local auto parts store (like Autozone) and get it read.

 

i was going in to mazda tomorow, i thikn it might be the gas cap but not sure,,,really this new in the game i cant see it being anything else..

 

yeah, thats what happened to me. so stupid.
