MA 04 AT Engine and Ignition

Recently I brought my car to a friends garage to have the scratches removed. They noticed it takes literally 10 seconds for the ignition to start, and then they noticed my car burns more gas then usual. After taking scratches out I brought it to another garage and they said my Rotors in the Engine is messed up, this is why my Engine burns more gas.

My 2 questions are, if I bring my car to Mazda, will my ignition and engine be replaced for free?

how many miles on the car? do you know if the car ever got the updated starter? when was the last time you changed out your coils and spark plugs?

For the gas consumption problem you might need to check out the MAF. If the sensors are dirty they mess up the air/fuel ratios. Look here: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...t=MAF+location
Further you can find some more information if you look at the "do it your self" section. Battery, spark plugs, coils, wires, and upgraded starter also need to be checked. I would start from the simplest one, battery, and then move on to the rest. Another suggestion is that if you need to change spark plugs, wires, and coils look first in the forum. Mazda asks insane prices about this type of jobs. Vendors here have better prices. Usually changing the above fix lots of problems related to car performance, engine start, idling, gas consumption. If still your car does not run good it might be time for an engine compression test.

Mazda will change Ignition and Engine if you still have warranty. What year your 8 is and how many miles on it? Further, before goind to Mazda take out any mods you have, if any. They like to bitch about anyhting you put on the car.

your rotors would not be messed up. try to get a more indepth explanation. do you mean carbon build up? do they mean wear on the apex seals? what?

you can buy spark plugs for $70 on bonanza. you should replace your ignition coils too.

honestly, i would take the "im stupid approach" and just go to a dealership and say, "my car is feeling really sluggish and underpowered lately and its taking forever to turn on."

if you are under warranty, dont say more than that and let them fix everything. IF they want to change your coils and spark plugs and charge you for that, since they are wear items. tell them you'll do it yourself. they will charge you out the ***.
