^do you have a midpipe?

I know ppl with midpipes has had no cel for a few hundred miles then it comes on then off agan...it all depends on what the 02 sensor sees...if it's out of its parameters then it will throw a code...

Nope, no midpipe. I'm running a relatively new cat but I just started mixing with Lucas UCL because I ran out of Idemitsu. Maybe that has something to do with it, but it hasn't thrown a code since.

Failed primary O2 sensors are rare. I put a new one in when I went turbo but I still have my old one with 127,000 miles on it that was working okay when I pulled it. But I have learned that the O2 sensors performance does degrade over time which is why I put a new one in.

Edit: What Dannobre said.

DTC0301 is a missfire code

DTC0031 is an O2 sensor code......

Big difference a zero makes

If you are getting a missfire code I would look at ignition first...coils, wires, plugs

Hmmm, i didnt notice the o2 sensor code. thanks for the info, i asked because i read that the o2 sensor can be linked to misfiring. Im going to check my plugs everything and if anything put my cat back on to see if it still throws a code.

Hey Fellas,

I figured since I saw this as being an open discussion on o2 sensors, I could get a few opinions on my situation. Keep in mind, I apologize if this is the wrong place to be asking.

Recently my CEL light went on, I went to Advanced Auto and sure enough triggered a P0138 code. This obviously being a rear o2 sensor high voltage (downstream). The only thing that I could think of as being a mistake on this trigger is that I went to a different gas station than normal (BP). So after finding out this problem, I thought I would ponder about it and look up the best prices before buying one. The next day I went to start my 8 and the CEL code was gone. I went back to Advanced Auto and it still read the P0138.

Given this information, I think I know what to do but thought I would ask you anyway. Any suggestions? My thoughts are to still get the part because eventually it is probably going to happen again. Having said that, it is probable that a hickup in this particular gas station might have found triggered an abnormality in my computer system. Sorry for the life story but I felt that it is best to give you as much details as possible. So would you advise me to just get the part anyway or just keep driving it until the light turns back on? My car seems like it is acting slightly different which makes me skeptical. Thanks everyone for your time and consideration regarding the matter.

Best Regards
