* i got a big problem*
after a the EGR and secondary air pump delete new clutch/flywheel and an AEM intake upgrade the rx8 decides to bog out at about 4300 rpm it sputters so to say, i also have the BHR igniton that has about 1-1500 miles on it, I hooked the EVAP machine up to it and fixed a vacume leak by the intake, other than that the smoke did not sho up any were else leading it to not be a vacume problem. im going to run a fuel pressure test tommrow, im just curiouse to know if this is a familiar problem or if anyone has heard of this, But at idle its flutters from 8 to 1k and inbetween. could this be a shitty fuel delivary? The car sat for about a year with some gas in it cuz i was oer seas, SO anyhelp would be apreciated

I zoom therefore I am.
did you drain out the old gas or just top off with new?
did you have fuel stabilizer in it?
run a couple of tanks through before you feel you have a BIG ******* PROBLEM

i did run through the maf btw so i cleaned that but you cant always clean a maf and it work properly so i might play the parts game with the maf and snag one and see if that helps, if not fuel pressure test it

From what I understand, your problem is in the fuel delivery system. Letting your car sit with fuel in it probably gummed up the fuel pump and fuel pump sock. Put a bottle of Seafoam in your gas and take the car out on the interstate and burn out that tank of gas.

Sounds like its starving for air or fuel, probably a bad fuel pump. However was it perchance stored in a pole barn or other location likely to have rodents about? If so, pop open your airbox and see what's inside. It would not be surprising to find a happy rodent home in there or the VFAD tube. Hopefully they haven't chewed through the air filter and allowed rat poop etc propagate throughout your intake system.

Seafoam above is a great idea. First thing I did when I bought a truck that had been sitting for a few years. Just not smart enough to think of it here. Also, drive it EASY. Seafoam will also clean up the oil on the walls and seals. After this, I would suggest adding a little bottle of 2-cycle (weed eater) 2 to 4 oz at Home Depot or Lowes to the next tank of gas.
