I own a 2004 RX8 A/T, with a 4.77 rear end gear ratio and a garrett T28 A/R 1.0 AND Tial sport .38 mm wastegate. upgraded ls2 coils, 65lbs injectors. Not tuned, but whopping 325 H>P> with massive water to air intercooler.... buddy trust me is fast ans sleek...

Paddles are better then a manual.......... in traffic otherwise your just paying a price for ease of use since the transmission really wasnt made for our cars. As long as your not drag racing or going in a line then you should be able to keep up with more cars then you think.
