Step by step to tune up your 8 @200whp

Hi guys,

Just have a thought on this

1. Intake, header, RB highflow cat, exhaust =15HP assume
2. Interceptor X = 10HP assume
3. Turbo, which I don't think is a good idea for automatic. SC maybe better. = 50 HP assume.
4. Our AT with 91 should be 140 @whp on dyno.
5. Spark plug.
6. Emanage? = 10HP adjustment

Should this work up to 200@whp with a fine tuning !?

Lets work together and enjoy the result!! I am looking forward on it.

and with all the money you spend on that stuff - you could trade in your 8 and get a 6MT loaded with all the goodies and still be faster, and more fun

With Petit's supercharger, a high flow cat, and a tune you'd be at 200whp+ peak most likely. But that's less important than the torque/power you'll have down low. That's where the big improvement in acceleration will come from.

There are several headers avaliable, but none really do anything. The exhaust ports on the housings are too small for it to matter.
Don't talk out of your ***.

With an SC (or any FI of any sort) you will see a much bigger gain than that.
However, don't be fooled by those that seem to believe that an SC produces more power "low down" than a properly tuned turbo. It just isn't the case.
An SC looses to a turbo in almost every way (oter than the cool noises).

SC does have more power available on tap than a turbo at low rpm's. turbo has lag, a sc has boost right away. The SC also doesn't run nearly as hot as a turbo will and suffers less from heatsoak. turbo is still better as far as on the fly tunability.

in the end though whichever one delivers the most air with the correct tuning wins, whichever FI you go with.

Still BS, just for its generality.

All of those assumptions have no basis in fact - they rely on anecdotal evidence from one poorly applied or archaic installation after another. Those are simply old assertions made over the years to justify one choice.
There will always be poor ways to implement either.

Well, I was just going by Pettit's prototype numbers of 190hp/240tq. The blower's setup isn't going to do much more than that without a new pulley (I'm guessing). Though that is on stock injectors, so more may be available with more fuel. Hymee's bigger blower would allow for bigger #'s. I also assumed a 10-15hp gain with a free(er) flowing exhaust.

Nobody's foolin' me. I wasn't comparing the 2 anyway. I was simply comparing the 120-130lb-ft of torque stock to the 200+ with the SC. My last car was a turbo 5-banger, so I know about low end torque from turbos.
