RE-AMEMIYA Greddy Turbo Kit Update

ok let me contribute since nothing is happening at the moment.

From what i gathered from the re-amemiya they said that if you were to put the TC in it could probably hold a max boost of 0.5 but for a safe level the max should be 0.45

So far i can give you my results based on my overheating problems because of the bumper and the freaking place that i live in and also my 3rd gear is abit worn out.

At 0.32 i am doin 208 at the wheel and hopefully by the end of the year i would have already done up my car properly, solve my overheating problems and HOPEFULLY try to acheive a boost of 0.4
In the process of changing to a bigger oil cooler cause the other side is taken by the ATF cooler. I was thinking of greddy but you have any suggestions please feel free to update me thanx. Oh also changing to a bigger radiator, koyo, but not sure if they produce for AT, also if someone is kind enough to point me in the right direction.

If for new cars you should be able to get 250whp. They tried higher boost but they blew the tranny.

"""Would someone help by recommending me a solution to my 3rd gear slipping."""

Sorry for my ignorance, but what units are you using for the boost? Are you running 0.32 bar?

Also, other than the GReddy thread, there hasn't been too much talk of adapting a MT turbo for the AT. I'd love to be updated on on the things you have done with the turbo so far, and what you will be doing in the future. Good luck making your AT quicker.

With all the money involved in buying the turbo kit itself, fuel management, extra cooling, extra labor, etc...this process is expensive.

I still want to figure out whether I'll be adapting a turbo for my AT, getting Hymee's twin screw, or just staying N/A.

The radiator upgrade should work for either. The only reason they say that they're for MT cars is that the stock ATF cooler is in the radiator, as far as I know.

sorry forgot to mention the unit...hehe...its bar.

Initally i wanted to try using the greddy kit meant for manuals in the AT but after much consideration i took the one that was offered by RE-amemiya cause the distributor for RE here in singapore managed to get the chief tuner to come down.

Thing is when me and the mechanic compared the greddy manual kit to the RE ones, it seems that some parts are missing (i was buying the manual kit 2nd hand thats why not too sure if the guy selling shortchanged some items) and some of them are different. for instance the M version is supposed to have a place on the pipe (either from intake or from throttle body) to put the blow off valve whereas mine had none. I will probaly try to examine the kit better when i have the time to give a more indepth review of the layout.

If I am not mistaken greddy make the kit specially for RE in some way maybe minor modifications. RE has always been working very closely with greddy so they may have made some requests for the TC kit, i guess.

From my personal experience, heat will be the biggest factor cause over here we are looking at 36degrees 90% of the year with terrible humidity. My advice is to make sure you have a good bumper, the one i changed to restricts air to the radiator and the intercooler is blocking most of the air comin in through the mouth. Its a shame, even the stock bumper has betetr cooling than mine.

Kit that i bought comes with everything ready to bolt on including e-manage ultimate. from what i have heard greddy has given up tuning the TC kit for the manuals cause they cant seem to get it right.

Just to add on, the kit also comes with bigger injectors.

One thing for sure is that the ultimate looks WAY WAY more cool than the normal blue e-manage.
The ultimate was brought in cause they could control the car and tuning better, supposedly. Thats what i have heard from them but dont take my word for it cause as long as its not givin me problems I cant complain.

I am looking at the greddy ones to replace the existing oil cooler cause i havent got space at the other hole due to the ATF cooler.

Man, my bumper sucks big time in terms of cooling but i will still go for looks any day.

he has an aftermarket one where the passenger side oil cooler would be on North American 6spds.

Heh heh, of course its additional. Just a "play-safe" kind of guy. Btw i was thinking of getting the ARC ones but they dont manufacture for the 8 so probably have to get the cooler and custom the pipes. Any experience with this.

no,
but have to do in the future... my idea is an extra cooler up front and the oil filter is going to be right next to it... and any cooler that is working and has lots of room for oil, i mean i would like to add at least 1.5 qts to the cooling sys. is good..

beers

Well acceleration really--I'm not really concerned with top speed--did you get the limiter removed on yours though?

I'd like to know what your acceleration times are too.

Also, If you have the time, it would be awesome to see what you spent on all the parts in your car.
