Posting a question from my friend

My friend owns a 2007 White RX8 AT. He now has a mod bug but also the regret feel after realizing his limits after buying the AT. He bought it NEW so I told him if he sold it he would take a hit in depreciation. So here is his question..
Should he...

A) Take the hit and trade it in for a (He wants an STi or Evolution 9/X GSR)
or
B) Keep the AT, but spend money on buying Exhaust/Midpipe/Intake...

I told him to just trade it in if he really wants MAOR POWAAA since I doubt those mods will do anything except sound.

Based on what he wants...

Trade.

Why did he buy a new RX8 when he really wanted some rice-rocket? If he had test-driven the STi, EVO 9/X, and the RX8 he would have come to the obvious conclusion that his NEED FOR SPEED would not be FAST AND FURIOUSLY attained with an RX8.

Trade it. If you want significant power, that's the only way to go. I did, and I'm much happier.

Or spend a significant sum on a high quality turbo or supercharger. Perhaps see what the depreciation hit would be and compare that to the cost of one of the quality FI setups on here.

Thanks all. He is already planning to trade in now =)
He never hated the car, its immaculate too (Always garage kept, cleaned weekly, etc.) So he isn't leaving because of "OMG NO TOQUE!" or "MAI ENGINE FLOOD??"
We dropped by a Mazda dealership to look at the MS3 (Not going to buy it but just look), I realized how annoying and moronic the people at Puente Hills Mazda are.

The manager or the salesman was a total douche. I cannot believe how much of a douche he was. We asked questions on price and such but he kept talking on the phone and telling us to "shut it " for a minute? And to believe I bought my car there..I remember every DAMN time I went they would NOT be able to fix the "matrixy" effect from the screen. I couldnt even use the heater/AC or the radio because the ECU was F'ed up. They never fixed it EVER. EVER.
