Charles R. Hill & Phil's8, Keep up the good work. I cant wait to get some goods
When I was looking for a car this was the only car I would buy as a AT aside from a 93+ Supra.
Its also a great thing to read and hear that someone is looking out the AT guys.
I cant recall but anyone makes parts like this for the AT FC/FD?

Yea, over the years there were/are companies and individuals that have made or still make lots of parts for the AT FC & FDs. You have to dig around on the forums, search the internet and ask old time 7 guys to find out what were the best. To bad they will not work on our 8s.

The ATs were the outcasts of that group also. I was told (by a reliable source)that in the beginning that the ATs were not allowed at meets.

Actually, Mac11 is local to me and is a supporter of us AT folks. He has worked on my car on several occasions (installed Mazmart water pump, etc), helped me out at my first track weekend, and answered tons of newbie stupid questions for me. So he's an offical honorary member of my club (Bastard Stepchilds of RX8Club Club) if he is willing to stoop that low. Plus he's a crazy Irishman, so I'd be careful that you don't insult him

There are several other locals that have been very helpful to me as well, even though they own lowly MTs. Red Devil (who has also worked on my car), alnielsen, and RedSheDevil could all be added to the list, along with some others I'm forgetting. So not all MT owners are primitive screwheads.

I try never to instigate any disagreement and tend to make an effort to avoid confrontation (but I do not back down unless I am wrong either) but do try to learn everything that I can and to have fun while doing it. Most mt owners are great guys (and gals) who just figure that our at 8s are just another version. There are a (vocal) few that seem to think that we are not purists and want to make sure that we never forget how they feel. These threads are supposed to a haven for the AT 8s from those"purists". I am a little protective of these threads but all are welcome here as it's an open forum with special sticky rules.

I got a little carried away and hijacked your thread. When I realized it, I did post and apologize.

You have expressed your desire to go FI in the near future so even with your silver paint AT you will be a charter member when ready if you desire OR it just makes sence to combine them. Just keeping this thread whimsical and loose should make for a fun thread to go to for AT owners. I'll PM you.

My instigation is more of the "fun" variety rather than argumentative. For example, a few years back we were having a block party, and some people had a fire pit going and were roasting marshmellows. One rather intoxicated fellow was rather proud of the big fork he had to roast marshmellows on. I made the following comment - "I bet you can't get 20 marshmellows on that thing...", and then sat back and watched the show.

Another time, we were at an event where they had one of those bouncy things that the kids jump around in. We had a rather drunk friend at this event as well, so I casually told him a real man would go jump around in that thing. Again, sat back and watched the show...

So we should make the club 4-port silver ATs plus 4-port FI ATs? I dunno, once you add FI you aren't looked down upon quite as much as us silver 4-ports. Although you do get the occasional "why would you spend that much money on an automatic?", so I guess by virtue of that you can join.

I like the AT's... I'm probably one of the few MT owners that would actually admit that.... I see nothing wrong with it, if you can't drive an MT then you just simply... can't. You all have your reasons. What really matters is that you own an 8... and more importantly, some of you own FI'ed 8's

By virtue of the original founders desire, the FIATFPB is hereby disbanded and in its place will arise "Bastard Step Childs of the RX8 Club, Club". All requests for membership shall be addressed to the founder MDW1000.
