IIRC, 20B in the JDM Cosmo is always auto, no manual option.....

I may be wrong (or drunk again...)

bye bye tires.

Then again, if you've got money for a 20b, you probably don't give a crap about having to buy new tires every month.

I want to do it, I have the money and all but nobody has done it out here theres only 7 RX8's and theres only this one racing guy who put it the RX7 engine in his tube CF RX8.

unfortunately down here it would cost me 41% more to import parts due to duty on importation and thats with shipping not included.

And lets not forget that my car already had 112% importation tax

Government rape

Is your car A/T? I did some research and couldn't find anything, I mean there is a lot of thread that its all about 20b on Manual 8 not A/T 8 since people in here are A/T If you can tell us the possibility and your knowledge that will be great! Educate me. Thanks

BTW, no offense I read some thread here, and I saw people put supra engine, 240sx engine and V8 in their car. What's the point of doing that?! lost the whole purpose of getting a rx8! agree?

Well My friend, Everybody has their own preferences when it comes to engines. The rx8 is a great car but it does indeed lack of power. Some of us went 20B to mantain the rotary engine and some of us deviated from that. But all are doing great jobs and putting all their efforts in them, so My respects... I prefer staying rotary. As for the automatic, RGonza is the one wh has it already and he has told me its working great. Last time We talked he was having a blast. At first I was a little skeptical about the idea of making mine AT but it seems that is a big probability.... RGonza is the guy to ask any questions about the actual swap...

Any one rich enough to try a 20B...........??

Does it have to be installed into an RX-8 or can it be in its original packaging. I have both.!!

Here is a pic or my 20B-REW powered RX-8 (JDM name = Cosmo)

Yes, RX-8 because had Mazda exported these babies, that was going to be the name for them back in 1990. They even manufactured the badges I'm told. Plus I know of a journo who worked with Mazda back in 1990 that scored an RX-8 badge from the production line. Export pin was pulled at the last minute apparently.........
