the mid pipe alone is around 5whp. the tune depends on the other mods you have. it helps you get the most out of your mods, as well as turn the autotragic.. well, less tragic. so i've read.

Why are you asking?

I use MM exclusively. There are only a few peeps out there that can do the tunes and why use someone that only has limited knowledge. Jeff worked with Cobb from the first.

 

well i bought the AP without the MM maps because it was discontinuing and i didnt have the extra cash.

im planning on waiting til spring to get it properly tuned by MM.

 

I understand but be careful about anything you do with the AP on your own. It is an item that can easily be abused and disasterious to your engine if misused.

 

I know. Im kinda worried just using the base maps on it. Seeing as thought they are meant for 6MT and that it isnt tuned to my car specifically

 

Then I wouldnt even use the base maps if they arent for your specific car.

Yes you did. Now that you know that, save the pennies and ****** up his tuning service.
One word of advice, do all of your preformance mods (coils,straight pipe,exhaust, what have you), and then request the tune for your Most Excelent 8! . Anwser the 11 deadly Questions including all of your mods.

According to him he's running base MT maps on his AT. That's not safe is it?

 

No that is not safe to be running the base M/T map on a A/T. The base map MazdaManiac provides for the A/T is safe. The only way to get a Cobb AccessPort to work on a A/T is to buy the AP from him or buy his MMCCS.

 

im not running the MT maps. I haven't installed the AP yet... but this completely blows.

 

It doesnt mean your AP is worthless though. I think MM can retune it for your car if you'd send it to him. For a price of course. $300.00 for the tuning service (i think). That's reasonable.

 

it is. but i dont have my midpipe on yet. plus 300 is out of reach for now. still paying off the AP itself.

just fill out the form at COBBs site for the Race Beta. You'll get a link from them for Race that includes a base map for your configuration.

 

Accesstuner is good for a base map, I used it to make a base map with an 8.4k redline on my 4port AT. I am current running the map I got from MM before my service expired...though it was meant for the setup I had on my last engine... It seems to work fine though.
