doing a side port 3 rotor wouldn't be very hard from an engineering standpoint. (at least not for mazda)

but it's too expensive for a production vehicle, and it wouldn't make enough power for a race vehicle.

man, i'd love to see a side port 3-rotor, but it just isn't gonna happen. remember that mazda has to make enough money to stay in business--let alone turn a profit.
