I dont know why someone would put a piston in the rx8 but thats just me. If you do that, better take out the RX because it wont be a rotary xperiment anymore.

I understand the RX7 guys swapping to a V8, as they probably blew a motor already, probably a few. But this car has to age several years, and have to pop a few times before people would consider doing conversions like this. like people said if they could do LS2/LS7 swaps that would be nice !

I'm sure you could but . . . WHY? As mentioned abouve, 8 or 7, the rotary powerplant is the whole point of the RX. Going from a tiny 13B to a huge V-8 is going to mess up the handling anyway, which IMO is the whole point of the 8. If you want straightline speed, get a Mustang.

So the other reason rx7'ers do this is out of pure ignorance. They don't understand the rotary, they don't want to understand the rotary, they believe all of the misconception/bs horror stories of rotaries, so they bastardize the car.

Yeah 60 more lbs. in front would suck, but given the hp gain, and the reliability it does make sense from that point of view. But you are right, part of the reason you get an RX7/RX8 is because of the rotary engine.
