Turbo with two stage exhaust

This is the exhaust system I recently fitted . It is still a work in progress because I'm not really happy with the tone or the loudness of it . I'm sure with an extra muffler and some tweaks it will sound better .
Reason for doing it was to reduce turbine backpressure mainly as I found that at 400whp the 3" system wasn't doing the job well enough . This setup cut backpressure by a good 5psi at the turbine.
Also I wanted the novelty of having a loud exhaust on demand .
Left side is main 3" exhaust and is nice and quiet for around town and trips. Right side is wastegate only so there is no flow until turbo reaches the set boost pressure.

This is at 4 psi boost:

At 15psi boostpressure :

It sounds quite good from inside the car actually . Just too loud and too much of a staccato . I think I can improve both of those things ...hopefully ending up with something pretty cool.

I've probably watched this 30 times in the last 10min. The more I listen the more I like it.

It's kinda cool to be able to emit a very loud noise at will .........LOL

From inside it sounds a bit like a high revving v8 on launch control . It's really a LOT louder than that video suggests .

Added a resonator to the wastegate side . Much happier with sound . Still loud but not obnoxious like it was .

Just curios why no one done that before on RX-7 or RX-8 to split exhaust pipes on stock rotary engine like here except without turbo (only rx-8 related).

Also any update on this build?

Finally managed to get a better video . The note does get more aggressive at higher boost but this was at only 10 psi on a track day.
