I am installing a Trust Greddy turbo on my 2004 Rx8 with my buddy and neither one of us can find where the oil pressure line for the turbo hooks up to the rotor housing. This is what the installation instructions state to do.

Remove the factory oil pressure switch at the
left side of the rear rotor housing and install the
Oil pressure line using the provided 3 way
fitting, and straight fitting. Route the line to the
right side of the engine (over the transmission)
to connect to the turbo in the later step.

I can not find where the line is at all. If anyone can help please take a picture of where it is or something. This is the only thing keeping me from finishing. Please help.

 

service manuals dont really have any good pics. the directions point it out pretty well... drivers side of the rear rotor housing. there are other places to tap

 

The " T " goes between the oil pressure sending unit and the rear iron. It is right below the oil filter.

 

Just get and oil filter adapter like this one, works like a charm

 

If you are looking at the spark plugs from the drivers side its above and to the right(farther back). Its a real PITA to get to unless you have the arms and hands of an 80lb contortionist. I gave up and bought a filter sandwhich plate. It is literally easier to pull the intake and install that than the other way =/

 

^^easy to reach if you've pulled both motor mounts to make the whole job easier

 

oooh good point! I bet you can shift the engine over a bit like that too. Since I did a top mount I never bothered to undo the drivers side mount.

 

i've also seen someone mention to take the oil filter neck off to get to it.

 

Hmm. I've got an oil filter sandwhich plate I bought many months ago to do the RB gauge pod. Still gunna do it but..

I'll be using the oil filter sandwich for my turbo install in a week or two.

 

Here is what we do. Super easy, and inexpensive. Fitting does not protrude into the banjo bolt either. I have seen people toast older FD motors doing this( for oil pressure gauges etc)
