Where are the Xperts? Anyone know of Mr. Tolhurst and Mr. Newman or their SC? No price however, but I love it when stuff pops out of nowhere...er..I mean Australia.

Australia seems to have several kits out locally like Mazfix, but they're usually crazy expensive just like the European ones.

>It was quickly found that the best forced induction solution would include the use of Rotrex supercharger as the simulations undertaken showed that the range of compressors on offer by Rotrex provide the most efficient compression throughout the broad rev range associated with the rotary engine.
Centrifugal sc... that's a poor choice for a wankel.

I understand the kit is still in the development stage. The owner of the business was trying to get it ready for the annual RX8 nationals. this event is on next month and he is not registered for the event so i guess he is running behing schedule.

Yes, these type of superchargers give away some power at the low rev range however, they do match the engine characteristics well.

I like my twin screw supercharger though.

The kit is priced at about 10k and one shop sells them, another shop was also mean to sell them but I'm not sure what happned.

These supercharges are great, they follow the natural charastics of the engine perfectly, there is no turbo kick, the easiest way to describe it is it feels like a bigger engine under the bonnet. Good torque down low and very usable across the rev range. Unlike the twin screw which looses torque up top.

A turbo would do the same, only more efficiently while robbing you from less power.
If you really really have to go SC, at least make it a twin screw!

a twin screw up top looses Tq? What weed has he been smoking?

It looks like a nice packaged kit with a blow through approach. The pictures are confusing to me, one picture has bottom hoses ( blue ones) the other doesnt?
It looks like an air/water intercooler?
For 10K there are better options imho.

How does it follow the natural characteristics of the motor and have good torque down low? That makes 0 sense.

It makes less down low and more up top. In a sense it "enhances" our engine's characteristics.

That's basically what I was trying to say, you mis interpret. It has good low down torque I didn't say it was frying tires at 2k.

And from they dynos I have seen of a twin screw on an 8 they loose top end power.

Don't think 'lose' is the right terminology here, it still makes more power over the entire rev range then a stock rx8.

And judging from skc dyno, it makes a **** load of torque down low. But a properly sized turbo has more area under the curve and is more efficient.

Regardless I think this supercharger unit workes well with the renesis. I would deffinetly consider this if I wanted to go FI.

This looks pretty good. I emailed them as I live in AUS and they are still in development. They also have told me the expected pricing is about $7,000 AUS including the piggyback. So far everyone who used to make SC are not. Pettit, hymee etc. I'm one of those who would love to SC my ride given I have everything else on it. Exotic speed extractors, mid pipe and Agency exhaust, AME intake, Esmeriel ignition upgrade etc.

So please anyone who has some info on SC kits that might be out there let me know.

I've just put some Stance SC 5ive 19" wheels which look fantastic.

Pettit is developing a 2.1 twin screw kit--progress is slow--look at the tuning thread--"touching 16 psi"

Last paragraph on their marketing page indicates they went with the Adaptronic for tuning. I wonder if this is the supercharger that Andy always mentions. If so their mule is a 4 port.

But twin screw superchargers have torque...

/15 PSI at 2500 rpm is torque.

So far, only minor mods (raise the blower) to the current kit makes the Kenne Bell 2.1 blower fit fine, there may also be a 2.6 liter option.

My low compression rotors show no problem at all with 16 PSI using the Pettit 12 PSI "big" crank pulley, but I have not found a perfect tune yet.

Yes I was aware that Pettit is working on their 2.1 version but I thought this had gone by the wayside as I've not had any emails back from them. I think I did like going with Pettit given that they have past experience on SC and I know they will be around and not fail (unlike those we know that have). Also they work with the Cobb accessport, something I've just purchased and waiting MazManiac to deliver on.

aLSo.... I've tied getting some picture of my ride on here but I've yet to master how to upload to this site... I don't think they make it ease to do this via iPad possibly.

CG pictures of the setup with one real picture which shows an incomplete airbox. Yeah this looks legit.
