Too Rich Problem??

I'm wondering if since imy car is most likely running so rich is why it bogs down if i give more than a 1/4 throttle. Could this be b/c it's running rich and drowning out the spark plugs when more fuel is required if i give more than 1/4 throttle? At half throttle it acts like it wants to go and lurhces and hits a flat spot, then sputters off backfires like a burst fire sub machine gun! Also, in the mornings or after the car has sat for a while it takes longer to start up. It sounds like it tries to turn over but the spark when i checked it looked a little weak, which gives me better reason to think the spark plugs may be partially damaged from the flooding. anyway, jw if my thoughts on the spark plugs make any sense.

sounds to me like "1/4 throttle" is probably when you go into boost. Do you have a boost gauge? positive pressure is when the emanage kicks, pumping in more fuel, which for you probably means way too rich. You are probably misfiring, does the CEL blink for a second and then stop?
