to those with interceptor-x

I'm looking at my option on turbo kits at this time. The only one I know that can be used with the interceptor-x is the Greddy one, correct? If not, what other turbo kit can I use? I want to stay away from the greddy one since the turbo was designed for a R/C car.

I also want to know how is the drivability of this ECU. Does it feel pretty much like what the car came from the factory?

I heard that this ECU is based on a microtech, can it control any 2 rotor motor or even a 3 rotor and keep atleast the stock gauges?

my understanding is that mazmart will provide a custom map according to what you have on your car, and of course the map for a turbo will go deeper in the psi range for you to up boost

You can use whatever form of forced induction that you want. There is no limit. Just tune it properly.

SSR sells a "tuner kit" which comes with no fueal management, so you would be able to use the interceptor with that. PTP will come with the HKS F Con V Pro, which is pretty much the best on the market, so no need to swap that out.

Last time I spoke with PTP (which was quite a few months ago I admit), they offered a tuner kit as well. So that might be a good route to go seeing the power they were able to get out of the car.

Except that you have to go to an Authorized HKS Premiere dealer or something like that to get your F Con tuned, and there aren't a whole lot of those around the country.

Thats true, everyone was complaining about the TSI (ric shaw), and now the interceptor is like 1600 and people are all over it. Is the interceptor that much better?

Agreed, but at this point I think it might be in the best interests if we have people that know what they are doing tune our cars. Tuning is the key to these kits. Night & day differences. Because of the variability of our cars, i don't know how comfortable I would be get a "pre-programmed" unit & sticking it in my car, or even one tuned by anything less than a rotary expert of somekind. Even then, if somebody is an expert Rotary head, are they expert (or at least experienced) with a Mazsport unit.

The latest info I have heard was that over the fall months , we will be able to flash the oem ECU, If this is true, would that make these after market ECU piggy backs obsolete or would there still be a purpose for them...

Someone will offer new "flashes" for the stock ecu fairly soon but we are still a ways off from being able to just plug in and tune it outselves. Standalones will never be obsolete. Look how many different options are still used on other cars.
