count me in as the other greddy turbo guy who is having misfiring issues at WOT 3rd around 5500 rpms. only thing is my issue was never there before and then it suddenly began out of nowhere. the issues did not begin after swapping in BHR coils. the issues only began about hundred miles ago.

i have BHR coils (ive gone 7000 miles with them on) and stock plugs. last weekend i swapped out plugs for brand new ones and the trailing plug on rotor 2 was black as hell, the others had normal wear for 7000 miles. the issue was not solved by swapping new plugs in.

next step will be swapping out the bhr coils/wires with another set of bhr coils and see if that solves the misfires.

Nah no danger. I will just go to autozone and tell them it's bad. They'll hand me another one.

I am looking up parts for the Divider. I'll order them right after I go to the store for my wife. My next mod was a 4" MAF I've just been trying to figure out where to put it.

So thanks, this should save time money and space.

9K how much are those sarx Air filters?

What I meant was , if you reach 5v while boosting and ecu suddenly goes to 0g/s then Boom goes your engine .

There seem to be a ton of DIY MAF extender links out there... Maybe not too difficult? Sounds like logalinipoo has that in progress :-)

.

I wonder if it coincided with your boost going out of control ? You are reaching 200% load at 5500 now . Was it always like that ?

\\Konig\\ 10-11-2013 05:08 PM

i dont think thats the main cause...because remember i first noticed my issues on MM's map and the issue was stuttering even at partial throttle around 2000-4500 rpms. the stuttering was still there with the new plugs as well on MM's map.

Funny how no-one wanted to admit to it ................... same deal with the poor startup performance on stock dwell.

9krpmrx8 10-11-2013 05:26 PM

I never had any start up issues with them when I was stock and I don't know anyone else who has, at least locally anyway and we have six or seven guys with them. I had two start up issues recently, one was a leaking fuel pump and the other was solved with installing the series II starter (freakin' expensive). But I am sure poor grounds are a factor as well as tuning.

The misfires and bogging that I was having that we could not get resolved and Kane and I could not get resolved was resolved by Steve Kan after 10 minutes if tuning. So all that time I was dicking with different things and it was just in the tune.

I know lots who have - I also know lots who haven't . Same with the misfire thing ..... go figure !

9krpmrx8 10-11-2013 05:34 PM

 Caught me mid edit. Yeah I am sure there are many factors to it. If you hook a stock car that is seemingly running fine up to the WDS system you will likely see some misfire events logged, I am not sure how bad the misfire has to be to trip the CEL to flashing.

Being there can make all the difference . I can probably say I've experienced most things that can go wrong in a turbo setup and have been able to resolve them all pretty quickly . When dealing with a car you can't see and drive the difficulty factor goes up tenfold .

9krpmrx8 10-11-2013 05:52 PM

Yep, having a newb in the middle makes the difficulty go up ten fold. And when Kane was here, his attention was split up between 5 people.

what is your AFR when this occurs, likely going super rich I suspect which it won't make any difference if you have the truck coils or not. I can make them misfire rich NA. Too rich is too rich regardless of the coil.

FazdaRX_8 10-11-2013 07:12 PM

konig install your stock coils...... then tell us how it goes

slash128 10-11-2013 07:40 PM

Don't forget to change the dwell back to stock :)

9krpmrx8 10-11-2013 10:04 PM

+1 for what team said, my misfires and bogging were due to going pig rich (10.0).

We tested it under leanish conditions and the issue persisted. Def an ignition misfire , not a rich bog.

\\Konig\\ 10-12-2013 12:56 AM

i will be swapping out the coils to see if they are the issue, i will come back with an update when ive done that. sorry for threadjacking btw! =D

The answer is simple then:

Don't worry about threadjacking :) I'd love to see this figured out!

Subbed, just waiting for you guys to find another solution. Trailing plugs in Lead, looks like I am going to the auto store as my misfires just appeared as well.
