i'm thinking of putting a cold air intake on my rx-8. the problem is, will it shorten the life of my engine and are there any suggestions? because i'm new to the rotary engine and idk if the engine can handle it.

a guy one the forums once said something along the lines of this:

"an engine only has so many puffs, more performance gives you more of those puffs up front."

he was talking about turbocharging.

you should be ok with a CAI.

 

Lol not even close to major horsepower upgrade! There are at least 25 threads about cais' search.

No it won't kill your engine if you buy a quality one.

 

get a mazdaspeed one.

they are even warrantied by mazda.
