Rx-7 Custom work twin turbo?

Jw if there is any way at all to install an rx-7's twin turbo kit on an 8. I know the side exhaust ports are way different than the 7's 13b which didnt have it, but it seems like if u put any turbo on the exhaust manifold it should work. Jw cus i found a very cheap rx-7 twin turbo recently and was curious if this is possible in anyway.

I'm sure it is possible to put them on a Renesis but getting the sequential system to work will be next to impossible. At least far more difficult than it is worth. That would be a ton of fabrication. Alot of those turbos are pretty messed up. There aren't many usable ones out there. Most of them are only good for spare parts. You'd better have a real good look at them before you decide to use them. Even if they are good, they don't last terribly long. Personally I wouldn't use them on an RX-7 much less an RX-8 but that's up to you.

thnks, its just i found at rotorsportsracing a rebuilt one for only 1300 bucks. The shop isnt too far from where i am in NC so i figured what the hell. They are respectable and have been doing rotary work for a long time.

plus, if u could get it all worked out, imagine the quickness of the throttle response at low rpms where the 8 definitely needs it

Have you ever looked at the vacuum control mechanism on the FD sequential turbos? Its a nightmare. I have no idea how you could possibly get all that working properly on a car not designed from it. It was hard enough to get it working properly (and keep it working properly) on an FD!

the simplified sequential isn't that complicated. people tend to look at that and the rest of the rat's nest and glob them in together...but the sequentials in and of themselves aren't THAT bad.

but keep in mind i work on them all the time...if you've never done them before, a gt35r is pretty nice

Once I gave up letting the so-called "experts" muck around in there and started figuring it out for myself it began to make a twisted sort of sense. I sure wouldn't want to try and retrofit it onto an 8 or anything else though!

i would if someone paid me enough!

have a custom manifold made, find some way to squeeze the things in there and control the whole **** with a haltech. definately not impossible, but cost-per-benefit... how much money are people willing to spend to say they have "twin turbos"?
