Replaced Greddy turbo hoses/reducers/clamps

I plan to up the boost soon and I decided to checkout the condition of my reducers/hoses. About half of them were cracking although none had cracked all the way through yet.

I replaced all the blue hoses and reducers that connected the piping for the Greddy turbo kit. I purchased the new ones from http://www.hightempsilicone.com/ , the total bill was around $150.

I've only had my kit 7 months and there was noticeable wear/tear on the reducers/hoses. The worm clamps bit into the silicone and there were cracks on a few, even on the inside. The new clamps I used are T-clamps and do not bite into the silicone like worm clamps.

Looks nice! Can you post the shopping list? I guess you had to buy them separately.

I'll get the shopping list together and post.

The reducer on the pipe going down from the throttle body was alittle too big. I believe they were out of the correct size on all colors (2.5 to 3). I got 2.75 to 3 and made it work.

Interesting find. Did you contact Benny to get his opinion?

I wasn't impressed with the kit hoses to begin with and used silicone ones from HoseTechniques instead. Nice to know I made the right choice.

No, I didn't talk to Benny.
I read a thread where the puerto rico member's reducer split open when he increased the boost (10psi?). So I decided to check mine out.

Diagram of couplers/reducers below. The numbers in parenthesis would fit better than the ones I got.

If you want to replace the 3 hoses on the air intake , you'll have to measure those yourself. I didn't replace those since they're not pressurized. Also, I relocated my filter behind the bumper using the websites intercooler 12" hose.

How did you clamp the intercooler hose to the intake filter? And is that a 3" or 3.25" ID?

The intercooler piping is 3" ID and 12" long (I had to trim 1 inch off).
To connect the two, I used a 3" (76mm) hose joiner found here.

This is a highly recommended mod for the stock greddy kit.

Mine also burst: http://proxy.searchirc.com/turbo/brokencoupler2.jpg

I tried to order from HTS, but they are out of transition hoses. I ended up going with MazworxRaceSupply.com (Located in Orlando).

Plus all the t-clamps came up to a total of $130 including shipping.

Edit: I replaced all hoses and all clamps, including clamps on the intake. So I spent around 200.

the t-bolts are better. mostly because they don't eat into the couplers (see pics above)

In case you were wondering... I decided to replace everything including the vacuum hoses and came across this.

Vacuum hose reliabilty test (scientific experiment): Viton vs. Neoprene vs. Silicone (thanks TracyRX7)

you can get it here:

http://hightempsilicone.com/category/vacuumhoseviton/

They cost about 5x more than silicone hoses...

I wouldn't bother. The vacuum hoses aren't in locations where it gets really hot.

I did buy pure silicone hoses (red), cost me about $50. It looks great.

anyone who needs coupler..... HTS seems to be out of stock on a few hoses... i googled and found this place.... http://www.extremepsi.com/store/cust...me.php?cat=772

found it a bit cheaper (few cents off most hoses) but there is at 7.50 handling fee, no biggie got everything + 14 clamps for 126
