Question about Turbos
Question about Turbos
I have a question about what PSI to run on a Rotary engine.
I've seen anywhere from 7-14 MAX PSI. However, I've heard from several people that the 13B Renesis engines are NA engines and do not take Turbo's well. So, the question is, what is the max PSI I should run the turbo at. I've heard that the GReddy turbo's seem to work the best with the engines, but I just can't find the correct PSI.

Huh? Greddy comes out of the box with 6-7 PSI. The Renny is a higher compression engine than the 13B, so that is why we cannot run as much boost... for now. Tuning is the key.

From what I comprehend and I don't know how right this is. You can't go by psi becasue it all depends on the size of turbo. A smaller turbo will be run at a higher psi and produce less output than a larger turbo at a lower psi. Am I right guys?
Kits with larger turbo's some run at 9 psi and make 50 more horse than the greddy running at 11. If you ran one of the bigger turbo's at a higher psi like 11 they could destroy the motor. Piping diameter changes things too.

Why do they sticky things on this forum, anyway? I don't know anyone that starts a thread like this that has read them. Certainly, the people that start a thread like this and then add "I searched/read/studied..." in it are usually just looking for an argument, anyway.

the stickies are the first couple threads at the top of each sub forum. the threads that have the anwser to the questions like the one this guy is asking.
when i was new i got my *** handed to me for asking a question like this, and i imediatily recalculated my question asking paradime. maybe we should make a pact to welcome everyone the same way.
