just a tad more civiliSed than that big country to the right and up a bit- where the english language is spoken in its bastardiSed form ......

the ball in flight would be the chip, the motion of the club would be the "chip shot", the golf ball becomes the chip after getting hit... a lot like how bread becomes jesus when you sing loud enough in church.
