Heh. OK. NIPPLES!

That is what they are called. Maybe I'll call them "vacuum teats" from now on.

I can't believe it. I clearly remember the map running just as high if not higher on Mazsport base map.
Are you guys saying that it is way too aggressive?
if I start taking it back, the car just feels like **** (real weak).
Is this maybe that my Int-X is somewhat off, or the software?
This just seems Odd, I am running a way weaker map than Mysql101, except its is more aggressive in the vac area.

I believe the gas is real good down here in SE, FL...
Even with when I used to run Nitrous, I was able to push larger shots and had less pinging than other people on the board living in diff states.

MD and I have to suffer with crappy West-coast gas.
Remember - every point of octane is up to 3° of timing.

Our best gas - 91 - is often equivalent to East-coast 89.

I wonder what it is going to feel like when I begin advancing the ignition curve under boost there in the 6-8 PSI area.
So far the car feels very nice, even at 5 psi, in the second gear it feels like she'll raise the front, as the boost hits. I am not saying it does that, but the feeling is quite exhilarating
I can't wait to get it on a dyno.

Nope, not at all. Because you don't.

The way we rate octane here is different.
You use research octane. We use an average of research octane (RON) and motor octane. MON is 12 points less.

Your 97 octane is actually 91 RON+MON/2.

Sorry.

Roto,

You wouldn't happen to live in the West Palm Beach area? I was at lunch one day maybe 2 weeks ago around Yamato N Congress and this black Rx8 drives by and I heard a very subtle whooopisshhhh and I almost flagged the car down.

It was a Black Rx8 with no spoiler.

Can you recap all the parts needed for this install? Did I miss what you are using to pump the oil to the turbo? Sorry it's late.

I also realised i fill up with 99 octane not 97....

Im not quite sure how u calculate this? do u mean in US terms i have (99+87)/2 = 93 octane?

anyway..either way, we still have no good rotary tuners here, so we still are stuffed....

Please don't make me write the whole thing over again.
I pump oil from the turbo, not to it.
Just use the search function on this thread. It'll come up with lots of stuff, even the pump brand I am sure.

Guys, a quick question. I've been meaning to ask it for a while now, but just kept forgetting. ):
I am almost done with my Matrix Mode map.
It runs great. Very steady AFR, great performance... One problem though.

After a hard, long boosted pull, or two, especially when I boost in high gear, or try to do burnouts or something like that, or accelerate really hard at WOT for a while (meaning run the engine hard) right after I am done running under boost, and go back to cruising, suddenly the AF ratio goes really rich. like 10 - 10.5 in cruise, and will stay that way for a couple of min, then goes back to my target AFR 15.3 - 15.5. Off course the drivability at that time begins to suffer greatly...
Sometimes to get rid of the rich condition I have to do a short run at full boost, or rev the engine real high a couple of times.
While that occurs, everything seems to be normal with the engine (coolant temp, intake temp) all is in check...
I had the same issue when driving a Normal mode map, except it was even worst. The AFR's would fall into 9ish, causing my car to actually spit the unburned fuel out and blowing oil all over the rear bumper...
(I do not have oil leaks, and the turbo does not smoke)

Any ideas?

Seems like this happens when I run with the AC on too. ^
Today, it was nice out, so I opened up the windows and shut off the AC, and no matter how hard I pushed, the AFR was stable.
I do enrich the fuel when the AC kicks in, but that is only supposed to happen when the car is idling...

What are your temps at? My guess is going to be heat related. Havent read the whole thread but my guess would be somthing is telling someone to dump more fuel in an effort to cool off...shot in the dark...

Nope, the temps stay in check.
Actually with the AC on, it runs colder due to the fact that with the AC the vents come on more frequently.
the temps coolant temps are hovering around 89-95C (as per the Int-x) which is twhere they are all the time.
Yes, I do think that something is telling it to dump fuel, but what and based on what condition?

Sounds like the vac/boost hose to your Int-X is collapsing from the heat after a hard run.

Do you have any fuel upgrades or is it stock?

Just to update.
Over 13K miles with the turbo. Still running beautifully.
Most of the issues with the AFR fluctuations are resolved, and it stays steady where it needs to be. The problems were tuning related. To be exact, It had to do with the point at which the WOT condition took effect. I had to move it up to 0PSI mark from 5HG so there is no additional enrichment while the car is in vacuum. I don't know if this makes any sense or not. :-)
By the way for those who are interested, I used Picasa to gather all of my pictures that are related to the build from the day 1 and uploaded the pics to the google Photos. So here they are:

good to know

I thought you had left us! I am still heavily considering this remote turbo setup. The price is attractive alone!
