MazdaManiacs Greddy Upgrade

Hey i just have 2 questions about mazdamaniacs upgrade.. the first is, does it work along with the emanage ulrimate that comes with the turbo kit as opposed to emu that is universal? I have the emu that come with the kit. Secondly when i get it, how long does it take to ship? Ive seen some stuff tk 8-10 weeks to get delivered. I know its well worth the wait but i hate waiting for something that is so bad ***! I was about to pull my hair out waiting the greddy kit! I am looking to get it today or tomorrow if it will work with my setup

1) you can use the emanage ultimate. not sure why you wouldn't want the AccessPort though, much better option

2) yes, you might have to wait a while to get it. Not sure on the exact shipping time frames but at least a few weeks would be reasonable as I'm sure MM has to get parts ordered and then fabricate a few things to complete the kit.

It will be worth the wait.

i wouldnt mind going with the access port. From reading up on it, its the better option. would the access port replace my eu or just modify it? another thing i cant figure out is even with me getting the upgrade from mm how in the heck would i overcome the fuel cut on the emanage ultimate even if i decided to stay with it? I read that greddy put some kinda lock on the eu so most tuners cant bypass it. So from what i see i would have to go with access port or interceptor x anyways. this fuel cut is a bitch because this kit has mad potential but the fuel cut thing ***** it all up. u constantly have to feather the gas especially when racing to keep it at like 4 to 4.8 psi cuz after 5 the car will start jerking really hard.(obviously cuz of the fuel cut) plus at high rpm's it feels like the power just dies, right around like 6.5 all the way to red line. Is that from the turbo being small or my emanage? Dont get me wrong i LOVE the car so much more now im just a lil frustrated at the potential i cant seem to unlock. Dont wanna overdo it but maybe like 8psi would be enough for me to really kick some *** around my city. I am definately getting the upgrade and the wait(even tho long) is not a really big deal but i might wanna have a lil more fun with this greddy turbo while im waiting on the upgrade.

accessport reprograms your car's computer. your car's stock computer is FAR more advanced than any aftermarket piggyback you can buy.

I believe it took about a month for me to get my 3071R turbo. Remember, this isn't an off the shelf unit. It's a hybrid made out of several turbo components. Jeff also has to hand make other supporting components.

ditch the e manage...my greddy turbo'd 8 has no cut out whatsoever with the accessport. Smooth transition into boost and power is stable to redline. The psi may go down a bit, but that's the turbo's fault. I get between 5.5 and 6.5 psi max. I have not tried turning up the boost.......yet.

sounds like the access port is what i need to get before i get the upgrade... Has anyone made the transition from the eu to the access port already? I guess i would just be unhooking the emanage and plugging in the access port under my dash and following the prompts that are suited for my setup? Right? That would really make me feel bad about drilling that hole in my firewall to run the cables for the emanage!

Good advice once again but Im just new to the n/a car turned turbo thing. I have a 89 t2 thats got too many mods to list but ive never done anything to it as far as the ecu goes. even after the bridgeport. So im doing alot of learning right now as far as the "computer" part of it goes but im pretty familair with my car and rotaries in general. Trying to decide whether to get a tune with the emanage ultimate or to go with the access port has become my newest dilemma. I like the access port alot based on the recent studying ive done but a good friend of mine brought up a really good point on the topic of saving money. If the eu that i already have is capable of running the upgrade from mm efficiently, then why spend another $700 on the ap right now? That money could easily be tuning/dyno funds. Another thing is if i get the precalibrated access port now from mm, how long will i be happy with my setup on this greddy turbo before i would wanna upgrade the turbo anway? I am definately sold on the convienence of the access port over the eu. And the whole precalibration thing is definately outstanding. But i would prob want to sell the eu shortly after i get the ap. And how easy would that be? Considering im not rich, it makes these decisions a lil more difficult because u have to factor in budget. I would love to just buy the ap along with the upgrade and kill 2 birds with one wallet but as of right now i dont have enough to do so. Not to mention im being greatly influenced by my brother who has a 94 ser sentra with the gtir motor, running a garrett gt35r and out running me on the hwy!(i still have a big advantage in the curb tho!) gotta love that 50/50 weight distribution and dreamy rx8 suspension! i guess where im going with this is will it make sense to get the ap now and wait on the upgrade? or get the upgrade now and get the eu tuned?

It's really up to you. I'm planning on getting the AP next year (along with a midpipe) and spending a full year learning my car with it nearly maxed out in terms of N/A power.

Besides - who gives a **** if your brother's sentra can go faster than you on the highway? I guarantee you enjoy driving your car more and when people are looking at your cars together they aren't looking at his.

LOL! Yeah ur right man... He doesn't even have power windows! And his car kinda sucks to drive cuz the suspension is old and worn! Plus he's not beating me by a lot just pulls on me enough to wear I can't close the gap.If I get in his draft then I can't pass him but he won't leave me. I think its his annoying jokes like when he calls my engine a big alternator that is really starting to get to me and sent me on this quest for a bigger turbo! I haven't lost to anyone else. I jus feel like one more little thing like a tune, the calibrated ap, or maybe even a lil more boost will give me an edge on him. Sibling rivalries are always fun. Off the topic tho, I was thinking and I wonder if anyone has ever tried to run boost on the stock ecu? If anyone knows a thread on that topic could u point me in the right direction?

^cannot run boost on the stock ecu tune, you will blow the motor...you will need the accesport to reflash it if you go with the stock ecu

i sent him few also but didnt get a reply either.. busy man i guess.. i just realized thru researching that i have been getting some serious detonation. For whateva reason i been thinking i been hitting a fuel cut that was setup on the emanage ultimate. I then found out there aint no fuel cut, just me about to seriously tear my car up! the thing that has me really concerned is that it doesnt do it at a certain rpm as some have reported but instead it does it when i hit 5 lbs no matter what rpms im at or what gear, or anything else. at 5 lbs it does it and there car vigoursly starts jerking. Im not getting the "marble sound" that some have reported either.

ive had a greddy kit for over a year now.. just never installed it because i wanted the upgrade.

when i got my tax return i pmed MM some questions regarding the kit prior to buying. he never responded so i waited. a few months went by and my girlfriend started pressuring me to get married so that money now belongs to her wedding fund.

I PERSONALLY BLAME MAZDAMANIAC FOR THIS TRADGEDY!!!... i still want the upgrade though.
