well not really, i was on an rx8 cruise and driving at the end of the pack. we were going well under the speed limit just cruising and the chp pulls behind me and pulls me over. he asks me if i have an aftermarket exhaust and pops my hood and sees nothing (because everything is stock under the hood) so in the end he just writes me up for illegal tint and no front plate.

i dont think i did anything to **** him off, well i did take a litttle extra time to pull over cause i didnt want to stop on the right side (there was a slight curb and dirt and i didnt want to risk damaging my rims lol...) but yeah...just my luck i guess.

 

I got popped when I was NA for a super loud exhaust (RP Mid/GreddySP2) and running the tach up to 9K in downtown torrance. He said he followed me for 3 miles waiting for me to speed. Just me being an asshat though.

Anyways, I think being cool and respectful with the cop goes a long way. I have had extensive experience with them when I was younger and stupider and even then didn't really have any problems. Recently (Last Feb), I was running late to a consulting gig, and the road I normally took to that client was closed, so I took a different route. I didn't realize the route ran right in front of a CHP office. I wasn't going more than 10 miles over the speed limit, but I was on it until I hit that speed hoping to make the next light. Long story short, a CHP pulls up right next to me, and asks, "are you some kind of idiot? You just blasted by a CHP office."

My response, "not usually, but at the moment I sure feel like one." We proceeded to have a conversation for the next 6 lights, where he explained how I need to be more responsible, and not be so stupid. But I didn't get pulled over.

 

so u have a smog hookup i presume.....
