Intake blocking plate on Greddy upgrade kit
Intake blocking plate on Greddy upgrade kit
The Greddy EManage Ultimate upgrade kit is currently on back order. I am going to order the Interceptor-X EMS instead but its not really an "upgrade kit" because it does not include the intake blocking plate and 1/8" nipple that I need to weld into my charge pipe that connects to my wastegate.
Do I need to have a plate made and do these two mods before I install the Interceptor-X EMS?
What other "fixes" do I need to get done to make sure the Interceptor-X runs perfect?

heh.
don't bother with the intake blocking plate. You don't need it.
Also you don't need the charge pipe nipple. You should look up "fix #2" for the wastegate source.
Int-x should be plug and play. You'll get around 255 whp with it out of the box. Increase the boost and get it tuned for around 280-290.

Also, the fix #2 is basicly the same thing Greddy includes in the upgrade kit. You plumb the wastegate to the turbo outlet pipe by welding in a 1/8" nipple.
How much should I increase the boost to stay at safe levels? 9psi?
maybe our terms are mixed up. greddy says to attach a nipple to the rear of the charge tube (where most people attach the BOV). You don't need to do that.
Greddy includes the blocking plate because it's easier to tune. Also if you're sticking with the 6 psi that the kit was setup for, you don't need the additional air that opens up.
You can go 9 or 10 psi, but much higher and you'll get more heat than power. I have my boost controller for 6 on low and 9 on high.

This is all I could find.

I was under the impression that fix #2 was EXACTLY that. Weld in a nipple on the charge pipe and run a tube to the wastegate.
