I need help understanding "Tuning"
Someday( when more FI kits are out) i would like to add a SC or Turbo. I think i get the concept of tuning, however are these statements correct?:
1) IF i were to buy a kit in the future and it comes with (or i get on my own) an Interceptor-X ECU , This ECU will come ALREADY Tuned with the correct maps for MY
particular SC or Turbo and possible other Mods ( like a high flow cat)?
2) The interceptor-X Comes with Plug and play software for custom "Fine" tuning. Are there dirctions on HOW to do this or do i need to take the car to a Rotary Shop?
3) When fine tuning the car, does it need to be on a dyno?
I'm sorry if these questions are stupid, I'm just learning this stuff!

1) all depends, if you get it from mazsport, they should include a base map for that particular application, and as they tune more vehicles with different turbos, sc, etc they will have more maps available
2) if you dont know what you are doing, then take it to a qualified shop
3) you can tune without a dyno, but to get the best results, take it to a qualified shop

Absolutely 100% take the car to a reputable rotary tuner. Fine tuning by them will make your car both more reliable, probably more powerful, and provide better driveability.

A-Spec Tuning in Chicago has a very good reputation. And I believe one of the owners has a 7, so they are really familiar with the rotary.
