Hymee gets Supercharged (Part 2)
Which is faster 200 ft lbs or 300 ft lbs? Answer it with no more info than that. If you provide a time variable to it (rpm), you will have something called horsepower which we apparently should understand doesn't matter.
Sorry for the argument Hymee. FWIW: The instant HORSEPOWER you get when stepping on the gas has got to be fun!

Hehe, my wife's handbrake is.
Although I can tell you, she agreed to let me order the supercharger if I take her to Australia. So when it happens, I just might deliver my check in person

The new one is 2 piece, doesn't require an adaptor to the boost pipe (it goes straight in), has less screws to install and slightly easier access. And it has nice 3D / compound curve transitions internally to assist with flow.
Cheers,
Hymee.

Cheers,
Hymee.
The last design was a 3-piece unit, plus the 3D adaptor to the boost pipe. It was a PIA to install and a bit to "boxy" in my eyes which I didn't really like with regards flow.

is much nicer than the pre-production versionI still liked the idea of the carbon fibre version you had as a prototype some years ago.

That is an Eaton roots compressor with a helix on the TWIN rotors to give the "screw". Those units have 2 x 4-lobe symmetrical rotors and no internal compression ratio.
The compressor I am using is a twin screw with a male and female rotor, one with 4-lobes and one with 6-lobes. They run at different speeds, and hence generate internal compression within the blower, hence more efficiently than the roots style compressors.

Hymee.
Is there a video of this thing's whine? I would really like to hear how loud it is as opposed to other superchargers.
Also will the 2009 4 point strut bar work with this? If so that would be awesome since this is a bolt on part and would have less chance of warranty voiding. I might end up saving up for this as my FI solution down the road, when the car is older. Will this work with anything other than the stock or RB intake? I would think a custom RAM air or one of the same length would work fine as well.

We wish the best to all of Hymee's Customers in their pursuit of a FI RX-8.
All sales are to be directed to Performance Design of Australia.

I'm running engine oil in the blower now. This is to help lube the layshaft bearings. One benefit is it never needs topping/checking/replacing as it happens with the oil change. Another benefit is it gives another place for the heat to dissipate from the oil.

Hymee.
