Motec is worth the extra - why skimp on the old family recipe (Star Mazda)

This sounds perfect, my little birdie told me 13PSI was possible just on stock seals, so 10 is, well, just perfect.

Cheers,

Florent,

Dès que ces infos seront disponibles, je les posterai sur RX8France.

DSC :

As DSC/TC controls torque output through brakes and throttle opening, and since throttle is still controlled by the original PCM, the Motec does not prevent full operation of the DSC and TC.

I'd rather have a stock ECU reflash. The car comes with a good powerful ECU... why not use it? (yes I do realize that "cracking" it is quite a bit of work)

The intercooler is top mounted, as shown in the photo's. There is also a front mount radiator as well, as it is a "split system".

OMg, I'm drooling. 3 things though.

1.Is this one of the ones that might be able to be tuned on auto?
2.wrhp number?
3. have you contacted any car magazines that might want to pick up for Rx-8 SC? I know PASmag.com is about to start an Rx-8 project car..

Does this mean that the pics of Wildcard's car is the finished product??
I only ask cos I was hoping that the covers would still fit after the SC install....

Wildcards car is the second prototype. With the intercooler and intake plumbed in, one of the covers doesn't fit on. As you can see, we still make good use of the very effective factory cold air intake and air filter. The battery is in the stock position, and the ECU cover looks factory. There are just a few extra wires going in there.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Let there be Torque!

I grabbed this quick screenshot from the video...

The dial shows the amount of torque that the dyno is measuring. So it is a real world figure, as this is the turning effort of the wheel. It equates to the force pushing the car along.

The number on the lower left is the maximum torque that had been measured, in newton.metres...

Cheers,
Hymee.

Exactly that number... I quote Hymee... "So it is a real world figure, as this is the turning effort of the wheel"

This is likely the torque number at the wheels, not adjusted for gearing.

I wondered when the penny would drop. That is what I said in the first place.

Cheers,
Hymee.

PS No - it wasn't in 1st gear!

I said it was the real world (actual) torque figure measured at the wheels.

I guess the point I was trying to make is to see how easy it is for people to get all excited about a number.

Cheers,
Hymee.
